The Types Of Basic Behaivoral Products In Cats And How They Are Used

By Robert Baker

Some felines have attitude issues or bad habits that need to be dealt with. With the help of basic behaivoral products in cats such as scratching posts and sprays there is hope for turning a feline around. Kitties are a lot like people and they tend to form habits, so getting them to change can be tough sometimes.

A couple of ideas that are common for stopping a feline from spraying are to get it neutered or spayed. This will help to calm the kitty down and reduce its need to mark their territory. A kitty will generally calm down quite a bit and will be less aggressive after having a procedure like this performed.

When searching for a way to box train. A person can use a type of litter that attracts the kitty and makes them want to go to the box every time. There are also spray items that release a certain pheromone that can help as well.

Another problem that owners have is when the animal uses furniture to sharpen their claws. In these cases an alternative is to purchase scratching posts. Another idea is to purchase what are called claw guards or covers. These covers fit over a kitties claws providing protection for the furniture. For indoor felines having the claws removed from the animal might be the right option.

Attitude is another common trait amongst felines. They tend to have their own opinion on how things are done and if it turns aggressive then it will need to be resolved. Some of the common triggers for attitude changes include health issues, a new pet or a new child in the home. Felines are used to routines so anything that changes that can cause them to become upset.

Another behavior issue that is a concern of some owners is when a kitty decides to wake up its family early in the morning. This happens when the kitty learns a routine of being fed first thing or getting attention early on. In an effort to break the habit changing up the feeding schedule and playing with the feline at night in an effort to keep them awake longer can help them break their routine. Treating a kitty like a person will help an owner relate to them.
