1. Size- Maine coon kittens can reach a large size when they are fully grown. This breed is no dainty house pet that could not survive without having human assistance. These cats are terrific hunters and they are large when compared to most breeds. The huge bone structure and long tail gives this breed a size advantage. Most breeds reach full size after a year, however this breed may take five years to reach full physical maturity.

2. Temperament- The Maine Coon breed hasan extraordinary temperament. The cats are independent however are not averse to physical emotion, and plenty of it love curling up in their owner's laps and being petted for much longer times. The breed is not so energetic as to cause issues in most houses, however these cats are also not a breed which sleeps all the time when young either. These cats are loving and affectionate but they do not require constant attention, making them a great choice for owners who must be gone part of the day.

3. Physical appearance- One of the biggest reasons that Maine coon kittens are really famous with cat enthusiasts is the look which they have. The breed can have color markings and variations found on nearly all other breeds, but the Maine Coon is different in appearance and in size both. Many cats with this breed have hair tufts in their ears, and a long tail which is fluffy also provides them a unique look.

4. Character- The attitude that numerous Maine Coon cats have is an undeniable reason for the popularity of the breed. These cats are extremely expressive and will frequently talk to the owner. The cat might chirp, click, yowl, caterwaul, and produce other vocal noises. Frequently owners state that it is possible to have a conversation with this breed, and the cat will usually talk back.

5. Compatibility With Other Animals- Maine coon kittens are also popular because this breed tends to get along properly with many other animals, even dogs. A lot of cat breeds are anti-social, and may not even get along with some other pet in the house.
