Seven Character Traits Of A Kitten

By Clifford Gill

A kitten is not far different from a baby. It will not take long for a lovable and vulnerable looking kitten to transform into a toddler wrecking havoc and messing up your things.

Kittens will not just eat anything. Even the smallest kitten will spit out everything it doesn't believe to be the very best available - oh and "the best" is very subjective, it depends less on the price/brand and more on the cat's likes and dislikes!

A kitten may look docile and submissive, but it has a stubborn streak and will insist on having its way. It won't care if that's your chair, your child's bed, an antique sofa or fragile houseplant. If your cat likes it, it's his!

Kittens have a way of endearing themselves to people - and it is not rare to see kittens ensconcing themselves on the laps of passing friends who are complete strangers to them.

If you allow them, cats will deceive you into thinking they could not be trained, because the fact is that cats are trainable. Just take potty training as an example, you can train a cat to use a litter box, so it follows a cat is capable of learning. Still the fact remains that by nature cats are not willing learners and will require and test your will and perseverance.

Sooner than you think, kittens will grow into adulthood. That will be a food for thought every time you are amused by the kitten worming its way beside you at night. Soon your kitten will think that it is his God given right to sit in your lap and appropriate your bed, and no amount of discouragement will deter him to claim this right.

Kittens are experts in raising a mother's instinct and will seduce you with their meek, helpless and vulnerable look, so be forewarned and steel yourself to resist this temptation, and the surest way would be to have just enough money in your pocket.
